Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, Wife of the Governor of Delta State and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, has officially launched the Foundation’s 2026 outreach programme with a heartfelt initiative. T
he programme began with the distribution of essential educational learning aids to two schools for children with special needs in Aniocha South and Aniocha North Local Government Areas.
During her visit to Abuanor Primary School, Ogwashi‑Uku, and Martin Primary School, Issele‑Uku, Her Excellency emphasized the importance of providing tailored educational materials to children with special needs, highlighting how these tools enhance comprehension, build confidence, and support overall development. She reaffirmed her commitment to creating safe and inclusive learning environments through the Foundation’s ongoing efforts.
“This intervention is designed to bridge learning gaps and empower teachers to deliver effective instruction,” Deaconess Oborevwori stated. “Every child, regardless of physical or learning challenges, deserves the opportunity to thrive.”

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Samuel Mariere, applauded the Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation for prioritizing special needs education and complementing government efforts in basic education. He assured continued collaboration between SUBEB and the Foundation to strengthen education across the state.
Sir Byron Unini, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, expressed his gratitude during the vote of thanks. He commended Her Excellency’s unwavering commitment to education and pledged that the Ministry would address the issues raised during her visit.
The programme concluded with the distribution of learning aids to both schools, bringing joy and hope to pupils, teachers, and parents alike. The beneficiaries described the intervention as a significant milestone in advancing education for children with special needs in Delta State.
